7 THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT BEYONCE
You know singer, songwriter, producer, actress, best selling artist and Queen of the Universe, Beyonce from, well, everywhere! With 22 Grammys, 24 VMAs, the first and only musical act in Billboard chart history to have six solo albums debut at number one, Beyonce slays at way more than just awards and chart topping hits. In no particular order, here’s seven things that you didn’t know about Queen B!
#1 Beyonce donated her entire salary from the 2008 film Cadillac Records to Phoenix House in Brooklyn, a cosmetology school and rehab facility for women in Brooklyn. She met with the women there while preparing to play the singer Etta James in the film.
#2 Beyonce’s baby bump reveal at the end of her performance at the 2011 VMAs ignited 8,868 tweets per second which set a Guinness World Record for most tweets sent per second about a single event.
#3 That’s not the only Guinness World Record that Beyonce set. In 2010, she and Jay-z set the record for the highest earning power couple after earning $122 million that year!
#4 ..which happens to be Beyonce’s favorite number! Not only is it the day THAT she was born, September 4. She and Jay-Z were married on the 4th day of the fourth month of the year, April 4. It’s thought that their daughter’s name, Blue Ivy may be inspired by the Roman numeral IV.
#5 Is there anything Beyonce can’t do? Actually, yes! Beyonce once told Ellen that she’s terrible at relaxing. She can only relax when she’s on a boat and surrounded by water and there isn’t a mic or studio in sight!
#6 Destiny’s Child isn’t the only group Beyonce was in. Beyonce started her career in a group called Girl Tyme and they even made an appearance on Star Search in 1993!
